Tom will speak at a SPI candidates forum as part of the "Planning For The Future of California" forum at the 16th Annual Latina Action Day.
Tom will attend the SF Coro Center for Civic Leadership's leaderhip luncheon
Tom is attending this luncheon, which will celebrate the success and expansion of the School Supply Initiative. This effort will distribute over 6.5 million dollars worth of school supplies to over 100,000 low-income students in over 20 Bay Area school districts this fall semester.
Tom will speak about his campaign for SPI at this West Contra Costa pre-primary education forum and fair.
Tom is the keynote speaker at the CSEA Legislative Conference. Tom has been endorsed by CSEA for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
The entire event runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The SPI candidates forum is from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Tom will attend this reception. The California Professional Firefighters have endorsed Tom for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Tom will attend the Strengthening Our Lives 4th Annual Awards Dinner in Los Angeles.
Tom will participate in a Superintendent of Public Instruction candidates forum sponsored by the California State PTA.
Tom is going to participate in the CSEA's Public Relations Academy training, helping with an interview and reporting skill building session.
Tom will walk during the event and receive an award for his work on tobacco tax and lung cancer issues.
Tom will speak at the Sheetmetal Workers Western States Council's Semi-Annual Convention.
Tom will speak at the California State Pipe Trades Council 19th Annual Convention in Monterey.
Tom will speak at the 9 a.m. memorial program and the 10 a.m. parade hosted by the Bay Point Garden Club and sponsored by the Bay Point Chamber of Commerce and Ambrose Park and Recreation District.

Tom will speak at the Contra Costa County Memorial Day Observance at the County Solider's Memorial Monument in Pleasant Hill. The observance is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Tom will make an appearance at the El Dorado County 2nd Annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds.
A reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with the dinner and program to follow at 7 p.m.

On September 29, the California Alliance for Arts Education and the Music Center: Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County are presenting a forum, “Education, Creativity and California’s Future”, to discuss the plight and promise of arts education in California public schools.
The forum will feature candidates for the office of California Superintendent of Public Instruction (SPI) and celebrity panelists. This forum is free, but seating is limited. SPI Candidate Forum co-hosted by the Los Angeles County Office of Education and the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association, and co-sponsored with the League of Women Voters of California Education Fund and the California State PTA.
The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and RSVPs are encouraged. School community representatives from across the Southland, including board members, superintendents, administrators, teachers and other staff, as well as parents and students, are expected to attend.
